English for Fee Paying Students
People from Non English Speaking Backgrounds(NESB) who have permanent residency may be eligible for Government funded English (ESOL) for Employment courses. Check with Work and Income New Zealand (Work and Income) to find out about your eligibility. Go to http://www.winz.govt.nz/about-work-and-income/contact-us/ to find out how to contact Work and Income to do this. If you are not eligible for Government subsidy and want to improve your English then PEETO Asia Pacific English Language College fee paying courses are available to you. Enrolment - General Information
- Students fill in an application form determined by whether they are Training Opportunities eligible, Foundation Learning Programme eligible, resident or non-resident.
- Resident and registration with Work and Income, or visa status is determined to ascertain the students right to access government funded courses, or their right to study in New Zealand.
- An appointment for assessment is made to determine entry level and class placement.
- Assessment takes place and the student is placed in the appropriate class for their level.
- Enrolment procedures as follow also take place.
Enrolment Procedure - Fee paying international students
- The student's visa status is determined and a student visa application is supported if necessary.
- Fee structure and compulsory insurance is explained verbally and in writing and invoices prepared.
- A receipt is given on payment.
- The student is given a copy of the PEETO Asia Pacific English Language College Class Handbook, the contents of which are outlined by the International Student Officer. The handbook covers in detail the rights and responsibilities of students.
- The student signs a declaration form (2 copies) stating that they have understood the contents of the Student Handbook. One copy remains on file in the administration area with the other copy going to the student.
- Students are asked to fill in a Medical Form for PEETO records.
- Students are shown to their classrooms, and given a timetable where necessary.
- Orientation of school premises and facilities takes place.
