ILN - Intensive Literacy and Numeracy
ILN ESOL is a free part-time Government-funded course for Residents or NZ Citizens or Partner of New Zealander Work Visa or Partner of a New Zealander Visitor Visa.
Learners are eligible to attend the course for up to 5 years as long as they have acceptable attendance and are making progress on the learning continuum. The course is aimed at low-level ESOL, literacy and numeracy learners.

• 12 hours per week: mornings, afternoons or evenings (10.5 hours) depending on your level
Course Outcome
The outcome of this training scheme is not a formal NZQF certificate but has the in-house certificate acknowledging a learner’s attendance and their resettlement, socialisation and language skill achievement.
This training scheme prepares learners to acquire applied functional English through the acquisition of the four skills- speaking, listening, reading, writing and vocabulary and grammar development. Competency in these skills will enhance successful resettlement in the host community and where applicable lead to further education and training beyond foundation level or the ability to seek, gain and maintain
employment.
At the completion of the training scheme successful learners with receive a certificate (in-house) designed to acknowledge a learner’s attendance and their resettlement,
socialisation and language skill achievement.

Placement
You will be given a placement test on the first day of the course and placed in class with other students at the same level
